The 2016 Vancouver Island Parent Conference takes place on Saturday, February 27th from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.  The conference is titled “Launching the Framework:  Changing Our View of Education”.  PAC has a couple of tickets to give away.  If you are interested in attending this conference, please leave your name with Mrs. Meyer in the school office.

 
 

Grade 4 students will begin the Foundation Skills Assessment (FSA) testing today.  This is a provincial assessment of students’ reading, writing and numeracy skills.  The assessment will be administered by Mrs. Krusekopf and marked by school administrators in the District in early March.  Results and testing materials will be returned to parents.

Monday – Students will create their favourite book spine

Tuesday – Read Aloud during Health Hustle

Wednesday – Whole School Writing Activity

Thursday – Dress as your favorite story book character

Friday – School-wide read in the gym

 
 

Grade 5 students and their parents/guardians are invited to the Late French Immersion Parent Information Session at John Stubbs School at 6:30 PM this evening.

 
 

There are two ways to register:

  1. Online at registration.sd62.bc.ca. Please make sure to present proof of child’s age and residence to your neighbourhood school within 14 days of registering.
  2. At your neighbourhood school. Please present proof of child’s age and residence to the school at the time of registration.

 

We strongly recommend registering online.  Registration opens at 8 a.m. on Monday January 25th.

 
 

Just a gentle reminder that there is no school on Monday as it is a professional development day to learn more about the new curriculum.  Have a safe and happy long weekend!

Dates:  Wednesday, Jan 27th and Wednesday, Feb 3rd from 2:45 – 4:45pm

Cost: 15.00

Thank you to Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart program for sponsoring swimming lessons for students in Divisions 3 and 4.  The students will receive seven swimming lessons at Westshore Parks and Recreation free of charge.
